City Tour Puerto Varas & Frutillar

Puerto Varas, the city of roses, 32 kmts south from Puerto Montt, on the beautiful shores of Lake Llanquihue with a panoramic view of the Andes mountain range.
 
Frutillar with its 15000 inhabitants is located in the west part of Lake Llanquihue, in front of the Volcano Osorno in the heart of the 10th Region de Los Lagos (Region of the lakes). This region of Chile is famous because of its extraordinary landscapes of lakes, rivers, plains, nature wood, volcanoes and the coast of the Pacific Ocean.
 
 
The Lake Llanquihue is the second largest lake in Chile. Located at the foot of the Volcano Osorno and close to volcanoes Puntiagudo, Calbuco and Tronador, which are located on the east side of the Lake. Around the lake there are important cities and tourist towns, such as Puerto Octay, Frutillar, Llanquihue, Puerto Varas and Ensenada. We can also find Vicente Perez Rosales national park.
 
Frutillar has got a temperate, coastal, rainy climate. The rain is present during the entire year and it is stronger in winter. It is precisely that climate that produces the extraordinary nature of “Evergreen woods of the lake”.

Punta Arenas is the county town of the region of Magallanes, formerly known as Punta Arenosa –literal translation for "Sandy Point". This name was given by J. Byron in the XVII century.
