After breakfast and some personal time, set off on your first wine tasting expedition in the valley. You will visit wineries founded by French and Italian immigrants during the 19th century, admiring the traditional processes still in use, learning about the different types of grapes and, last but not least, tasting the exquisite wines that the region offers.
Achaval-Ferrer is and will always be a small winery, joyfully committed to the production of limited quantities of the best red wines. Their team shares this passion for making great wines that are a faithful expression of their terroir. A group of Argentinean and Italian friends started this adventure in 1998, with love for the land and the goal of achieving the highest quality. Santiago Achaval and Manuel Ferrer are the Argentinean partners. The Italian partners are Roberto Cipresso, (the winemaker), and Tiziano Siviero.
Dinner at Francis Mallman 1884 Restaurant
Francis Mallman has created Mendoza's top restaurant inside Bodega Escorihuela, known, among other things, for housing the biggest wine barrel in the province. With fine Argentine meats and fresh local produce, his carefully presented cuisine combines his Patagonian roots with his French culinary training.
