Flirting with the Andes
DAY 04: MENDOZA/SANTIAGO DE CHILE
Early departure after breakfast, today you will cross the Andean mountain range taking the international route to Chile. It's a beautiful aproximately eight hour ride (380 km) and the border crossing is at about 3200m. On your way you will visit the Potrerillos and Uspallata Valleys and Penitentes Winter Sports Center. After arriving at Aconcagua National Park, you will see the incredible landscapes of Horcones Lagoon and Mt. Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the South America (6.962m.). Next town will be Los Andes in Chile
 

Then, you will continue on your way to Santiago de Chile. Packed Lunch will be served on route.
 
SANTIAGO DE CHILE, resting on an inland plain with the Andes Range glimmering in the distance, is the capital and biggest city of Chile with over 5,000,000 people. It is situated on the Mapocho River, in the central part of the country and today it is one of the most modern cities on the continent.
 
 
Santiago is also the central point of a region filled with attractive sites and activities.Only 60 km away are the main South American ski centres, and the beautiful beaches of the Pacific are only an hour's drive to the northwest.Just south of Santiago lie the rich and beautiful vineyards of the Maipo Valley, one of the world's most esteemed wine producing regions. The city is bisected by the Rio Mapocho, which gently weaves through from East to West, before descending to the flood plain below.
