DAY 05: BUENOS AIRES/MENDOZA
After an early Breakfast at your Hotel you will be taken to airport to board flight to Mendoza.
Your local representative will meet you upon arrival to Mendoza and take you to your Hotel.
MENDOZA, located in mid-west of the Argentine Republic and at the foot of the Andes, is the most important city in the region. Its exceptional climate allows the bests grape ripen, basis of its excellent wines. Mendoza is the centre of Argentina’s wine industry and accounts for approximately 70% of the country’s total production. Nearly all the major wineries are concentrated in this province. Its best grape is the Malbec as the climate and soil in Mendoza are the ideal setting for the full expression of this grape variety.
Widely known by its beautiful landscapes, Mendoza enjoys a strategic geographical location and becomes a real link by connecting Chile with the Mercosur countries (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay).

After some personal time, set off on your first wine tasting expedition in the valley.
You will visit wineries founded by French and Italian immigrants during the 19th century, admiring the traditional processes still in use, learning about the different types of grapes and, last but not least, tasting the exquisite wines that the region offers.
Visit and wine-tasting at the following suggested wineries:

-
Achaval-Ferrer is and will always be a small winery, joyfully committed to the production of limited quantities of the best red wines. Their team shares this passion for making great wines that are a faithful expression of their terroir. A group of Argentinean and Italian friends started this adventure in 1998, with love for the land and the goal of achieving the highest quality. Santiago Achaval and Manuel Ferrer are the Argentinean partners. The Italian partners are Roberto Cipresso, (the winemaker), and Tiziano Siviero.
-
Tapiz / Fincas Patagónicas selects grapes from vineyards in the key regions of Agrelo, Tupungato, and Ugarteche. We will visit their winery in Agrelo: 222 acres (90 hectares)

-
Ruca Malen is devoted to producing premium wines, based on expert knowledge, on the magnificent lands of Mendoza and, above all, on a lifelong passion.
Ruca Malén produces limited lots of wines proceeding from exclusive and selected Cabernet-Sauvignon and Malbec vineyards.
