The wine trail, an acquired seduction
DAY 03: SANTIAGO / SANTA CRUZ
After enjoying buffet breakfast at your Hotel your guide will pick you up from to take the route 5 towards the south until the Colchagua Valley.

The Colchagua Valley has an extension of approximately 500,000 hectares (1,235,000 acres). Mountain chains clearly define Colchagua’s borders with the provinces of Cachapoal to the north, Curicó to the south, Argentina to the east. The Pacific Ocean lies to the west.

According to the most recent national census, the total population of the province is approximately 205,000 residents, mostly of European-Spanish descent and predominately concentrated in rural areas.

The primary economic activity is agriculture, particularly viticulture at the centre of provincial development, with 23.000 hectares (56,800 acres) planted to wine grapes, making it Chile’s second largest appellation in terms of surface area planted, and the first in terms of fine French varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Malbec, and Syrah.

You will cross fields, prairies and numerous agricultural plantations. After 180 kms. of distance we will arrive at our destination, Santa Cruz Plaza Hotel.

Upon arrival we will be able to enjoy a welcome cocktail.

This Hotel is an inspiration for the seekers of good wine, cuisine and centenarian traditions. Situated in the heart of the Colchagua Valley the Santa Cruz Plaza is an exquisite combination of good taste, attention to detail and first class service.
